USB-TO-GPIO2: TPS61170EVM-316: Control software with USB-TO-GPIO do not work

Part Number: USB-TO-GPIO2

Tool/software:

Hi, I have open another thread as request by TI E2E customenr support.
The issue is described here

https://e2e.ti.com/support/power-management-group/power-management/f/power-management-forum/1472540/tps61170evm-316-control-software-with-usb-to-gpio-do-not-work/5656824#5656824

Thank you

Stefano

  • Hi Stefano, I would hate to bounce you around again, but I see in the previous thread that your PC and Fusion Digital Power Designer both recognized the USB-TO-GPIO2. It sounds like the issue is unrelated to USB-TO-GPIO2.

Just to help cover all grounds related to USB-TO-GPIO2, the latest firmware for the 2022 adapter is version 2.1.0.0. Here is a screenshot I just took while using the USB-TO-GPIO2 with the Fusion Digital Power Designer software  . This shows that the Adapter is detected appropriately. The team that develops the TPS61170EVM Control Software should be able to confirm whether the software is compatible with the USB-TO-GPIO2 adapter.

I will leave a comment on the other thread with some more context. Once they receive the 2022 adapter, they should be able to support the request

    Best regards,

    Britton

  • Hi Britton,

I agree with you; I have forward with a new subject as requested by your collegue. In case of some incompatibility of EVM SW and USB-TO-GPIO firmare is it possible a downgrade on old FW ?

    Thank you for your support.

    Best Regards

    Stefano

  • Hi Stefano, v2.1 is actually the oldest version of the firmware that is compatible for the 2022 adapter. No downgrade is available, but the TPS61170EVM team may be able to lend you a 2006 adapter for short term workaround while they investigate the 2022 compatibility. This would be the only way to revert to older version

    Best regards,

    Britton

  • Ok Thank you Britton for your support.

    Best Regards

    Stefano
