Hi expert,

My customer need to use two I2C communication in BQ79758-Q1. So could you help to confirm how can we configure GPIO2-11 of BQ79758-Q1 as I2C? R&D feedbacked that they have configured general GPIO as I2C in other devices and the I2C communication would delay or suspend (abnormal).

Therefore, could you share some design guide to configure general GPIO (GPIO2-11 of BQ79758-Q1) as I2C and make sure the I2C communication performance? Thanks a lot.

Hi Ryker,

Only GPIO1 and GPIO2 can be used as I2C pins on the BQ79758-Q1 when the BQ79758-Q1 is configured as a stack device. Other GPIOs cannot be configured as I2C regardless of performing as a base or stack device.

Ryker,

As previously mentioned, other GPIOs cannot be utilized for I2C. There is no solution where it is just the BQ79758-Q1. You will need an I2C switch such as the TCA9548A-Q1.
