UCC21530-Q1: ppm rate

Part Number: UCC21530-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC21530, UCC21551

Tool/software:

Hello,

where can I find the ppm rate of this product?

best regards

HB

  • Hi HB,

This is not something that TI likes to share. However, there was a PCN of this device that has a lower ppm rate than the predecessesor. The new UCC21551 also has fixed many of the weaknesses that were found in the original UCC21530 design.

Please update to the post-PCN version or the UCC21551 if possible. Many lessons were learned and improvements have now been made.

    Best regards,

    Sean

  • Dear Sean,

many thanks for getting back, and yes the UCC2155x-Q1 would be a suitable alternative.

Can you please share with me the ppm rate of the UCC2155x-Q1?

    Best regards

  • Hi Hubert Baierl,

The original UCC21530 is no longer made. It has been completely updated to a much stronger, simpler design during last year's PCN. All prior PPM information is now historical. The UCC21551 is the same output as the new UCC21530's output side, but has a cost optimized 5V input.

The fixes are working and the PPM is no longer a concern.

One major advantage of the new design is its low tp vs. temperature coefficient (below). No competitors can match this performance, and they require adding 10ns more deadtime, which lowers efficiency and high-frequency use. The TI device also delivers lower switching losses than Infineon, due to their high resistance PMOS. Most importantly, it is offered at a lower cost, due to TI's investment in 300mm wafer manufacturing.

    Mit freundlichen grüßen,

    Sean
