LM27762: weird phenomenon

Part Number: LM27762

Tool/software:

Hi Team,

We are seeing a weird phenomenon.

With several devices with same input/output voltage some has PGOOD at low and some at high. Can you please explain?

We can say that the input voltage (5V) is rather noisy (~200mVp-p) and the output voltage is quite noisy as well ~200mV. The positive output is at 5V and negative at -2.5V.

thanks!

  • Hi Ohad,

According the data sheet, see below, you have take care about the minimum headroom on the input voltage which is also depending on the output current.

Vin = 5V and Vout=5V is not possible! In this case the device is not regulating the output voltage -  means you see the input noise also on the output.

The PG signal is low if the target output voltage reaching 95% in general. I think in your case this threshold is reached marginal at some units only due to tolerances.

    For example: Vout = 5V @Iout = 250mA needs at minimum 5.3V input voltage.

    Best regards,
    Sepp
