Difference in Power Pump Cell Balancing Algorithms

Hi,

 

Currently I am designing a battery pack using bq78pl116 and I am stuck in choosing the different cell balancing algorithms. The information from TI does not divulge much details on the difference between the three difference cell balancing algorithms. I am currently setting the cell balancing at Open Circuit VoltagePumping, but I would like to know what is the difference if I were to set the balancing algorithm to Terminal Voltage or State of Charge? What would the effect be to my cells ?
