TPS25751: Must follow ErP Lot7

Customer have evaluateTPS25730, but found that this can't pass PD compliance, so start to think to swtich to TPS25751.

In order to pass ErP Lot7, the latest USB-PD compaliance must be followed. So may I check the following two.

1. Is the TPS25751 able to keep the latest CTS by updating base FW such as Tomcat family?

2. Do you have solutions to update FW in the market without EC? Customer's application is battery charger, which doesn't have wired/wireless interface with others (D+/D-,SSTX/RX are not used)

TPS25751 will be compliant to todays PD3.2 CTS spec. However, it is not a flash device like Tomcat, but we will update for compliance until we run out of patch space. So you have to consider when does customer go for certification.

TPS25751 cannot be updated over Type-C like Tomcat.

Hi Ghouse,

Could you confirm that FW for TPS25751 can be up-to-date to meet the USB Power Delivery CTS for versions 2025 Q1 and 2025 Q2?

This is in line with customer development schedule, as they plan to conduct the IEC62680 compliance testing in Q1 or Q2 of 2025.
If TPS25751 does not meet the CTS, they will consider to use a different PD controller.

Hi Hayashi-san,

The latest spec in effect during this time period is the PD3.2 spec which our device is planned to support.
