TPSM365R3: smps for adjustable regulator for 3-7.5Vdc output

I am looking for a smps (with an integrated inductor ideally) that can be used like a linear regulator that is adjustable from 3-7.5Vdc (<=100mA load) output from an input of 10-30Vdc. I'd use an LM317 with a trim pot, however, heat is becoming a concern in a small space. Is this possible?

Hi Lee,

I recommend taking a look at the TPSM365R6 or TPSM365R3. You can adjust the output using a potentiometer or a modulation scheme. One such example is seen in the app note below:

The premise is to use a DAC, or even filter out a square wave with adjustable duty cycle to inject current to get the right output.
