I will propose TPS65988DJ, what do you think about it?

Their need is bellow.
 1) Pin compatible same as TPS65994AD.
 2) High-speed communication up to 5Gbps must be supported in Altanate mode. ( No need Power Delivery : 5V/900mA)
 3) Supported DP1.2.
 4) Must be usable in combination with HD3SS460.

They would like to connect the monitor through USB.

TPS65988DJ is used for device only and it also cannot support compliance.

1) Is this a host (PC/NB) or a device (dock/monitor) design?

2) Are they following any reference design?

Is you customer making a new design or updating BOM on an existing design? What reference design they are following and what is the CPU they are using? Can you also confirm if customer do not need compliance?
