TPS561208: Regarding Kelvin Connection

Part Number: TPS561208

Tool/software:

Hi Team,

By referring to the datasheet of the TPS561208 on page 19, in the layout guidelines, point number 7 mentions the need for a Kelvin connection during the layout process. So, how can we establish a Kelvin connection to the GND pin for the feedback path? Can we use the split pad technique to modify the pad for highly accurate measurements of resistance and voltage?

  • Hi

This is more critical in high current conversion for accurate Vout sense, you can follow up the GND routing on EVM or recommended on data sheet for small current converter like TPS561208, do NOT cut GND plane as it's important for low impedance ground loop.
