LM317MQ: Introducing an LDO that meets the required specifications

I am looking for an LDO that meets the following required specifications:

Input voltage: 40V or more
Output current: 300mA or more
Output voltage: 12V±2.0%
Package: SOT-89 or similar

From my research, the following seems to be good:
LM317MQDCYR
(40V, 500mA, 37V output, SOT-223)

    LM317MQDCYR doesn't quite meet the Vout accuracy spec you're looking for here.

    TPS7B8601QKVURQ1 is an option that is rated to 40V Vin, 500mA Iout, can support 12V output ±1.15% across line/load/temperature, and is in TO-252-5 package. Note that this is an adjustable output LDO, so any tolerances of the FB resistors should also be taken into account to arrive at the final Vout accuracy spec.

    Thank you for your reply.

    I intended to enter the output current value as the absolute maximum rating.
    What if the load current is typically 50mA?

    Note that the 2.0% accuracy is assumed for a single power supply IC.
    The required specification is 5.0%, and I understood that this was met
    if the power supply IC alone was 2.0% or less.

    If the output current is typically 50mA, I'd recommend TPS7C8401QDRQ1. This is rated to 40V, 150mA, can support 12V output, 1% max accuracy, SOIC package. I am also assuming that because the LM317MQ was mentioned, that AEC-Q100 qualification is required. 

    If that's not the case, LM317M would also work (catalog).
