TPS65219: Power up sequence fail

Part Number: TPS65219
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM625

Tool/software:

Hi Support team,

We designed a PCB with the AM625 paired with the PMIC TPS6521903. During board development, the PMIC output failed during the power-up process. Based on the PMIC power-up sequence measurements, we found that the outputs of LDO1, LDO3, and LDO4 failed, and BUCK3 had no output at all. Is this issue caused by abnormal LDO outputs, or is it due to the failure of BUCK3?

Is there any way to obtain the PMIC logs to identify at which step in the process the issue occurred?"

Let me know if you need more adjustments.

  • Hi Jian,

Thank you for reaching out on e2e.

What is Vsys voltage? For 03 version of the device, Buck2 is programmed to 1.8V but the scope shot shows it is at ~3.3V.

You can read PMIC registers 2Ch to 30h to read any faults reported by PMIC.

Also, can you please verify the board layout (not schematic) that PMIC powerpad is solderdown to the board?
