LMR33630-Q1: LMR3360 is a 3A buck,in the datesheet, low mos current limit min value is 2.9A. How should I understand this low mos current limit?

Part Number: LMR33630-Q1

Tool/software:

LMR3360 is a 3A buck,in the datesheet, low mos current limit  min value is 2.9A,as we know, the max current will fl△ow though low mos is Iout+△IL*0.5,

the spec Iout is 3A,so the low mos current will exceed 2.9A. How should I understand this low mos current limit?

  • Hi,

In the switching cycle of the part during a high current scenario, The High side current limit determines when the HS MOSFET turns off (blue portion). Then the low side turns on and the inductor current falls (red portion).

The limits set in the DS are such that you can expect to get a consistent and reliable IOUT_DC = 3A.

    Thanks,
    Andrew
