Hi All,

I have a question about the EN pin of the TPSM63610.

A customer accidentally designed the EN pin to be open.

However, the TPSM63610 worked normally. Why is this?

However, there seem to be individual differences in the TPSM63610, with some devices working normally and others not.

Is the EN pin weakly pulled up internally by something?

Hi Ishiwata-san

Based off of the fucntional safety document and DS, I would not recommend floating EN. Likely device won't turn on.

I understand that the EN terminal should not be left floating.

The customer accidentally left it floating.
But it worked fine. Why is this?

Hi Isiwata-san,

There may be some leakage from VIN to EN. There's no discrete current source in the design that weakly pulls EN up in case you forget to pull it up. That's why we don't guarantee that it will work in this condition. The device may also not work at certain low VIN values.
