Hello,

Can someone please explain why the state of charge and remaining capacity estimations during prolonged rest/no load condition are not accurate?

I have a battery that was fully charged and left in storage for >30days. The fuelgauge reported RC 305mAh and SOC 21%, however, when the battery is discharged it had 1241mAh, over 4 times the RC capacity reported by the fuelgauge. The cell in question has been characterized and correct Chem ID is used and the required learning cycles, etc performed.

Hello AMR,

There could be multiple factors affect it, what percent error did you see with the ChemID with GPCCHEM calculator? Also could you recheck your data memory register values done below since your design capacity can be off aswell. Lastly you should re run your learning cycle aswell.
