TPS25751: VBus to CC short protection

Dear Sirs and Madams,

Does the TPS25751 support short circuit protection on VBus and CC?

I have read from the datasheets that the TPS25730 and TPS26750 ( with TPD4S480 ) support this function, but there is no mention of it in the TPS25751, so I would like to confirm this.

Hi Masashi,

Similar to the TPS26750, the TPS25751 needs an additional IC to provide CC short to VBUS protection. For just CC line protection, you can look into the TPD2S300A.

There is also the TPD4S311a, TPS6S300A, and TPD8S300 if they need additional protection.

The TPD4S480 is meant for EPR (>20-V) operation, but the TPS25751 is SPR(<=20) so you would not need the TPD4S480 for protection.

Hello Chris,

I understood that the TPS26750 and TPS25751 require a protection circuit, and only the TPS25730 has a built-in protection circuit.
