UCD9248: UCD9248 No Operate after software writing

Part Number: UCD9248

Tool/software:

Hi

I made a board with the same power supply configuration as VC707.(Using UCD9248)

Wrote the same software as VC707, and passed all.

But, no output from UD9248
When viewed in the Fusion Digital Power D
esigned  tool, it is not operating.

What could be the reason it's not operating?

Thanks Regard.

  • Hello,

We are looking into this issue and will follow up shortly.

    Regards,

    Maha

  • Hello Hara-san,

UCD9248 features fault monitoring functionality. It seems like the alert was issued due to "Low Vin". Make sure to check your supply rails to the UCD9248 and power stages.

    Kind regards,
    Nick Z

  • Hi Nick

I changed the software to write it and it started working.

It started working after I changed the software I was writing to. It works fine with the software released by xillinx.(XML)

It doesn't work with a modified version of that software.(tisfp)

Do you know why it doesn't work with the software I extracted from the evaluation board and modified the sequence?

I want to modify the sequence.

  • This's modified version of tVC707_modification.ziphat software.(tisfp)

    thanks regard.

  • Hello Hara-san,

Thank you for sharing your config file. I will need to ask a few more questions to understand where the problem may be:

    • When you say "working" and "not working", are you referring to the detecting PWM output from the controller?
    • Could you share the configuration file from Xilinx that you are using? I will compare it to your current configuration.

Modifying sequences in Fusion GUI can be done by altering the settings in Phase/Rail Config --> Phase Assignment

    Kind regards,
    Nick Z

  • Hello Nick

    >When you say "working" and "not working", are you referring to the detecting PWM output from the controller?

Not working means vout voltage is low.

    >Could you share the configuration file from Xilinx that you are using? I will compare it to your current configuration.

    Share below. Thank you,regard.

    >Modifying sequences in Fusion GUI can be done by altering the settings in Phase/Rail Config --> Phase Assignment

I understand how to set it up. Thank you.

    thanks regard.

  • Hi Hara-san,

    Understood, thanks for your responses.

    No Vout regulation:
First I would check PWM pins on the controller and try to capture if they are outputting a PWM signal or not. Checking the controller pins for PWM will help isolate where the issue is coming from.

I would also recommend capturing IMON waveforms as well.

    Configuration:
I will get to reviewing this within a couple business days. Thank you for sending over this configuration file.

    Kind regards,
    Nick Z
