TPS65219: TPS6521903 not able to power up

Hi Eddie,

For 03 version of TPS65219, EN/PB/VSENSE is configured as PB. This pin needs to be pulled low for PMIC to start enable it's rails. Below is the TRM for this variant of the device.

Hi Sathish, 

Customer try manually control EN pin ( pull low ~ 1s), but still not not get voltage output. 

Please suggest if any other comments. thanks.

Hi Eddie,

This variant has FSD (First supply Detection) enabled so it will ignore PB on the first power up only and as soon as VSYS is available PMIC tries to enable the rails. Looks like Buck2 tries to comes up and  tries for a total of 3 times as expected (power up + 2 re-tries) and some fault causes PMIC to shutdown.

Schematic shows PMIC thermal pad is connected to GND but can you please check with customer if it is actually solder down to the PCB?

Also, if customer have I2C access to PMIC, can they please read register 0x2B to 0x30 to see what faults are reported?

Customer access I2C and read back status below, 

0x0(TI_DEV_ID) = 0x00

0x1(NVM_ID) = 0x03

0x2B = 0x11

0x30 = 0x00

Is it fault due to Buck 3? what else we need check with customer?

Hi Eddie,

Register 0x2E will tell which fault (UV, OC, SCG) on Buck3 is preventing PMIC powering up. Register 0x31 and 0x32 will show any RV faults on the rails.
