Hi, I am looking to make a 5S lipo charger using the BQ25730. I understand from the datasheet that the BQ25730 supports CC and CV charging, and that after charge current is set via I2C, the charger will enter pre charge mode (if needed) and go into fast charge mode once it is safe. However, I am not able to find information about how to enable the CV charging, or when it will be automatically enabled (if it does at all). I am also not able to find information about the default charging profile of the BQ25730. I would like these information.
Also, the use of the BQ25730 seems fairly involved, with an additional micro controller required to set the charge current on start up, and charge termination not being automatic. Is there another IC that provides CC/CV charging, ideally without the need for an additional micro controller? I have a 3A 20V source from USB-PD, and would like to charge my 5S battery at 1.5-2A.
