BQ25750EVM: ILIM_HIZ programming clarification

As per EVM schematic, with JP10 installed condition RILIM_HIZ i.e. R66 is provided as 2.49 kohm. But the description says the limit is set for 8A. But as per datasheet formula, the calculated resistance is coming as 6.25 kohm for 8A current limit. Please help me in understanding the deployment of 2.49 kohm resistor for 8A current limit.

Thanks for catching this. Yes, you are correct. I am working on fixing this in the EVM User's Guide. A 2.49kΩ would result in a 20A current limit.

Thanks Ethan for quick response. This clarifies me that datasheet formula is true. In our design, our requirement is to limit the input current to 1.5A. Hence we are planning to deploy 13.3 kohm. I hope this is fine. Please confirm.

Hello Saravana,

Yes, that is correct. Also, we recommend installing an RC filter in parallel with the ILIM_HIZ resistor when the resistor is greater than 5kΩ. The EVM already includes this RC filter.
