Hi Expert,
Have a good day!
Customer use BQ25171-Q1 to charge 3 cell NiMH batteries.
According to Datasheet, user needs to set the VRECHG to 3.99V(3 cells). But customer want to use trickle charging at 4.02V, which means use MCU to control the batteries voltage no more than 4.02V and charge 2 seconds per minute when the voltage is near 4.02V. So, they set the VRECHG to 5.32V (4 cells).
To be more clear, they bypass BQ25171-Q1’s Charging Profile through setting the VRECHG to 5.32V, and use MCU to control the max voltage to 4.02V and protect batteries.
My question:
Is this usage right?
Will VRECHG set to 5.32V influence other functions besides the charge voltage?
Best Regards,
