LP5866: Maximum current Isw of SW pin

Part Number: LP5866

Tool/software:

dear T.I.

I have some questions about the output current of the LP5866.

What is the maximum current output from one SW pin of LP5866?

Is it possible to output 550mA from a single SW pin?

  • Hi Naoki,

The maximum average current that SW can stand is 322mA. If you use LP5866 as 6-scan line, it means you can set the output current maximum up to about 107mA. But if you use LP5866 as 1-scan line, it means you can only set the output current as 322mA/18 = 17.8mA.

Please let me know if there is any other problem.

    BR, Jared

  • Thanks Jared

    I have two additional questions.

When using 5-scan lines, what is the maximum current?

The configurable output current is [Maximum average current]*[Number of scan lines]/18, so is that correct?

(Example: When used as 6-scan line, the output current that can be set is 322mA*6/18=107mA)

  • Hi Naoki,

    Yes, your calculation is correct!

The configurable output current is [Maximum average current]*[Number of scan lines]/18, so is that correct?

So, in 5 scan line, the output current can be maximum up to 322mA*5 scan line/18 channel = 89mA. But the maximum output current of CS is 50mA for LP5866, so please don't worry about the current capability of SW.
