TPS25751: Commands or registers can be used to shutdown tps25751 or change the requested Sink PDO

Hi Support team,

Because our products need to comply with the requirements of ErP regulations, we must reduce power consumption as much as possible in standby mode. We would like to ask whether the following two runtime controls are available.

Set bit 1-0 of the 28h register to 3h to turn off the Type-C port, or set bit 10 to disable PD
Control register to request different Sink PDO. For example, through the Autonegotiate function that 25751 can request up to 20V/3A sink PDO from the PD adapter. Can we request a 5V/3A PDO through commands or registers?

Hi Support team,

In addition, our system uses EEPROM for initialization. We are not sure whether doing the control we need will cause the PD to automatically restart.

Hello,

Generally speaking in the register map, if the Type is R/W then it can be changed (written) at runtime.

Yes.

Yes. You can change the Sink capabilities and then request the TPS25751 to send Get Source Capabilities.

Please see the description for the register. For example, any changes to register 0x28 will result in a port disconnect and reconnect with the new settings.
