Tool/software:
Hello,
Could I have an idea of the TI production life time for the UC3872 ?
It's an old chip as you mentioned but with very interesting function to generate high voltage.
Is it recommended for new design ?
Thank you
Laurent

Hello,
Thanks a lot for your research.
It will be for a new product and we expect a product life until 2035 (minimum).
The quantity is 500 parts / year. It’s a big product with low quantity.
This product embeds a high voltage generator.
The UC3872 is very interesting for his push pull feature with zero detection to minimize loss.
The electronic schema is a push pull DC to AC converter from 24 Vdc to 6 KVrms (like the application notes schema in the datasheet, it’s work fine )
I have another solution with more discrete components. The UC3872 will allow to integrate the solution.
Have a nice day.
Hi Laurent
Thank you for the update, please let me check about this.
Best regards.
Hi Laurent
Yes UC3872 is recommended for the design.
Thanks and best regards.
