TPS25944A: DIODE MODE(DMODE) use case

Part Number: TPS25944A

Tool/software:

Hi Experts,

This device supports diode mode(DMODE). DMODE pin is pulled down internally so usually this device acts as eFuse. When DMODE is pulled high, this device moves to diode mode (non ideal diode mode). In this mode, will be either of B2B FET on like below? What is a benefit to use DMODE?

    Thank you for your patience.

    Yes

What is a benefit to use DMODE?

example from datasheet: The terminal is useful in Power-Mux applications to switch over from master to slave supplies and vice-versa smoothly, when two supplies are within a diode drop of each other. A high at this terminal activates the non-ideal diode mode.

The biggest advantage is that we can control the device to remain in the RCB even if the reverse current is not flowing through the device.

    Best Regards,
