LP3878-ADJ: Why is this listed as active when it is obsolete?

Tool/software:

We have received a PCN from our CEM stating that this part is obsolete with no alternative and it is NRND. However it is shown as active on the product page with no mention that it is obsolete or NRND, should this be changed to stop people using it in their designs, or was our PCN incorrect?

Hey Terry,

Thank you for your question. Yes, you are correct there was an EOL notice on the LP3878-ADJ devices, however we since have sent another PCN to restore active status these devices in April 2024. These devices are currently active hence why the product page is showing active instead of obsolete or NRND. Nevertheless, we do believe in terms of part performance, long term supply, and customer cost we strongly believe that it is advantageous for our customers to move to more modern devices. Since we understand how complicated that endeavor could be we understand that this will take time hence why we are continuing to support these devices that previous EOL notices were sent. I would recommend starting to look into a newer alternative like the TLV767 for the reasons previously listed.
