Hi team,

My customer test their product ESD ability with 15kV, after the test they find TPS7A0328 has no output.

Removed the IC and soldered to another board and found that TPS7A0328 was normal again. Can you help to analyze it?

How are they testing for ESD?

Hi Hannah,

Yes, for ESD test, 3/3 times. It is very curious it can recover after power on reset.

Yes, it is. I would assume if it was an issue with ESD the device would just become damaged fully and be unable to recover, but that does not seem to be the case here. Do you know how they are testing for ESD?

After the strike, did they run the device for an extended period of time? Are they sure the circuitry connecting to the LDO was not damaged and the LDO was actually, okay?

Do you have a schematic of their board?

I am working on to have their SCH for analyze. A quick question is : is that possible caused by foldback current limit or thermal protection?

Yes, I think this could be possible. Were the customers able to test the circuitry connecting to the device for damage?
