Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC25800
Tool/software:
Hello,
I need a power supply for a gate driver. I am considering using the UCC25800 for this.
The transformer should be the 750317493. I don't have a great alternative, as I can only find a few with a high level of reinforced insulation.
I need a voltage of +15 / -8V on the secondary side. With 3-4W at 100°C, and a input voltage of 17-18.5V.
I would connect the two secondary windings in series and then set them up with a voltage doubler.
Unfortunately, the transformer only has a transformation ratio of 1:1.07, a rather high magnetization inductance and the leakage inductance is also relatively high.
Should the UCC25800 be a possibility here? Due to the high magnetizing inductance, I see a problem in ZVS operation. What would happen if I did not work in ZVS mode? Does this reduce the maximum transmitted power?
Kind Regards
