TPS650250: About Power Save Mode of DCDC3

Part Number: TPS650250

Tool/software:

Hi team,

Our customer is using this device and having below few question,

1. In 6.9 Electrical Characteristics DCDC3, it is writed MODE=0(PWM) like below, Is this typo? Is the correct is MODE=0(PSM)?

2. In above, when MODE=0, the accuracy is dicrease. Could you tell me this reason?

Best regards,

teritama

  • Hi teritama,

    1. Yes, this appears to be a typo. It should appear like VDCDC1:

"Adjustable output voltage with resistor divider at DEFDCDC3 MODE = 0 (PWM/PFM)

"PWM/PFM" is the same as Power Save Mode (PSM)

    2. For lighter loads, there may be an increased output voltage ripple in PFM (PSM) mode. This may effect output accuracy.
This can be minimized with higher output inductor and capacitor values.
