TPS25751: EEProm region CRC

TPS25751 does automatic CRC check on the binary image loaded from the EEPROM. If the binary image is invalid, TPS25751 will return to PTCH mode and report in boot status (0x2D) register.

My goal here is to check if the binary loaded in the memory of the MCU managing the PD controller matches the EEProm content of the TPS25751. On the firmware side I can calculate the CRC of the binary in the MCU memory, and I would like to know how to recover the CRC remainder of the EEProm content to verifiy they match.

The CRC will not represent the EEPROM integrity.  In other words, if there is a bit flip or some other issue with the EEPROM the CRC may not represent what is in the EEPROM.  

Does it make more sense to allow the PD to consume the EEPROM content (and do the CRC check) and the MCU simply read the customer use register to confirm the identity of the firmware?
