Why the comp setting 1’s output capacitance is smaller than comp setting 2?

What is the internal circuit difference between comp setting 1 and 2?

Does comp setting 2 improve transient response?

Hello Leo,

Comp setting 2 has higher bandwith of control loop so it can accomodate higher output capacitance. Yes comp 2 helps to imrove the transient response.

Hi Farheen,

What are the benefits of "higher bandwith"? Does it have relationship with Fsw?

I see the comp setting 1 and 2's max Fsw are same 4MHz.

Hello Leo Ma,

Bandiwdth is more related to crossover frequency, and if it is higher, then it can accomodate more capacitance at output. That is why it improves transient performance also. But it does not have any impact on switching frequency.

Bandiwdth is defined as "frequency range where system effectively responds to changes"
