Hi

I want to Torch mode LED Driver?

Required spec as below :

Input range : 2.5V ~ 5V

Output : 5V/600mA(min) ~ above.

Miniumum current : 600mA

LED Spec : 1W LED will be used with one or two pcs

LED Application : 1W LED or 1W LED x 2 string(parallel)

How about TPS61054 or TPS61055?

Do TI has the solution?

Eric,

Reading your inputs, it seems like you are after an LED driver with >=600mA continuous current operation. If so, I would suggest looking at the LM3410 (http://focus.ti.com/general/docs/nationalsemiconductorproducts.tsp?genericPartNumber=LM3410). There are a number of application examples in the datasheet which can give you additional ideas on how might want to configure this design.

In case of LM4310,

How about the max. current on Torch mode operation?

Is it possible upto 2.8A switch current?

The TPS6105x cannot provide 600mA of torch current.

The TPS61087 could be configured to provide the power you need.

Thank you for the guide of TPS61087...

In case of both TPS6105x and LM4310,

My target current spec is above 350mA!!

Is it possible to operate Both 350mA on torch mode current?

Hi ,

I just changed to TPS61050 EVM for 450mA/ 500mA testing under the Torch mode.

As I know that attachment should be operate 450mA/ 500mA,

But It did not work at 450mA/ 500mA.

separated Power supply is added for this EVM.

If you have some debugging point, pls let me know ASAP?

Eric,

Looking at the screenshot you provided, I can see that your device is currently in 'shutdown mode'. You need to change 'MODE_CTRL' in the drop down menu, or manually adjust the first two MSB in registers 00 and 01 to enable the part.

I tested the EVM in lab today and haven't experienced any issues, can you please elaborate upon "But It did not work at 450mA/ 500mA"? What specifically is happening or not happening when you run the EVM?

thanks Nick,

I mentioned that current is not set to 500mA.

My Target Max curent is 500mA. but Max Current is 250mA now.

And according to your guide after change that the first two MSB in registers 00 and 01 to enable the part,

Setting is automatically changed to Regulation Mode.

What is wrong? Could you pls explain step by step ...

In the software, select:

-TC - 250mA/400mA or 250/500mA

-MODE_CTRL = TORCH ONLY or TORCH+FLASH

-Tx-MASK = Tx-MASK Enabled

-DIR = INPUT (configures GPIO pin as an input)

On the EVM board,

-pull GPIO pin to VIn (high) using JP2 and JP4.

I need to the source code of TPS6105xEVM Software(GUI)!
