TPS65262-2: Max PGOOD current

Tool/software:

Max PGOOD current isn't specified in the datasheet. One of the test conditions indicates 1mA is acceptable.

And section 7.3.11 recommends a pull up resistor between "10 and 100 kohms to a voltage source that is 5.5 V or less", indicating that 550 uA is acceptable.

However, I would like to sink ~5mA into PGOOD-- enough to drive a BJT with enough margin to support a heavier load.

Can you tell me what is the max current PGOOD can sink for high reliability and long life over temperature extremes?

Dear Sir,

I would recommend the sink current not be greater than 550uA as we suggest the minimum resistor is 10k (for 5.5V or less pull up voltage) to make sure the long life reliability. Thank you!

I can see what the datasheet says, but there's any number of reasons you could recommend a minimum 10k resistor. The datasheet also says the max voltage at the pin is 0.4V when sinking 1mA. Does that mean the only drawback to sinking 5mA is that the max voltage drop will be 2V? That is something my circuit can tolerate.

Dear James,

The data is not available. Actually there is maximum sink current requirement for PG circuit to maintain it's specific low level. I would recommend to follow the datasheet. Thank you!
