We are currently working on developing a library to interface with the USB2GPIOv2 adapter, with the goal of using I2C to communicate with our devices. However, we’ve been unable to locate any detailed function descriptions or documentation for the USB2GPIOv2.dll.

Could you please provide any information or resources regarding the functions available in the USB2GPIOv2.dll? Specifically, we’re looking for guidance on how to initialize and configure the USB2GPIOv2 adapter for I2C communication, including any steps or example code to set it up properly for talking to I2C devices. Any details you could share would be greatly appreciated!

I’ve been working on replicating the function definitions from the USB2ANY API Reference and managed to get the program running up to this point:

_Sys_FindUSB2GPIOControllers@4 → Retrieves the total number of controllers
_Sys_GetDeviceInfo@8 → Obtains the Comm Port
_Sys_Open@4 → Opens the port successfully
_Sys_GetUSB2GPIOBoardName@8 → Confirms the board as "USB2GPIOv2.0"

After step 4, I’m unsure how to proceed to enable I2C functionality. Figuring out the correct arguments for these functions took a fair bit of trial and error.

I’d really appreciate any suggestions, next steps, or example code to help me get I2C working. Looking forward to your input!

Hi Britton,

The example project worked well in .Net version 4.5. However, when I tried to include TIDP.SAA2.dll into our current project, which has .NET 8.0, I received an error message:
Inner Exception 1:
TypeLoadException: Could not load type 'System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels.IChannel' from assembly 'mscorlib, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089'.

I looked into and found a similar post here:

Do you happen to know if there is a workaround to use TIDP.SAA2.dll with .Net 8.0? or maybe directly use TIDP.SAA2.dll?

Hi Minh, This issue has not been resolved yet. I believe you will have to use previous version of .NET for TIDP.SAA2.dll
