Hi,

I am still having the problem that my BQ24650 works with a power supply but doesn´t with solar modules.

All the details were written in the referenced ticket an I was waiting for an follow up answer.

I can´t update the ticket anymore so I hope it is okay to open another ticket for the topic.

    In you last test you were testing with low light, have you tried testing during different lighting conditions?

    I think the issue is that the solar panel is just not able to supply the requested power.

    Hi Christian,

    I repeated the test with perfect light conditions. I even tested the panel with an electronic load and I got 36W in the MPP.

    So it is not an issue of the source and I think that the soft start is too demanding.

    My PV-Cells are connected with 5m cables (AWG 15). 

    Do you have any information if there is additional input capacitance needed when using solar panels with longer cables?

    I think adding more input caps could help. We don't have any test report using solar panel charging with longer cables. However, I recommend using 10uF-100uF to see if there is any improvement.
