while redesigning our unit I have came across LMR60410. It seems very promising, however I would like to verify one aspect I have not found documented well and the LMR60410QEVM development kit is hard to obtain now.

In our usecase the input voltage range is 9-32V, output voltage is 5V, the switching mode is "auto" mode for best efficiency. Imagine this setup with output current being constant 10uA (microamps). What is the input current in that scenario? Consider standard conditions, room temperature, etc. Please share the measured value.

There is a very promising statement of quiescent current being only 5uA without switching. But we need to know the overall current including switching. Now if the measured value is below 100uA (microamps), we can get rid of the parallel LDO completely and simplify the design. If the measured value is over 100uA, could you recommend some alternative that could be used instead?

Hello

I will check with our Application engineer for this device and see if we have any data, or if we can take this data.

In general, a very crude approximation for the minimum input current would be: Iq+(Vout/VIn)*Ifb

Where Ifb is the current in the feedback divider.

From my measurements it's ~103uA of current consumption. Maybe that's ok for your application.

Sorry for follow-up question. Since the result is on the edge, may I please ask for additional measurement at output current 5uA, 10uA and 15uA? All for 14V input voltage. I think this will fully resolve my issue. Thanks a lot. Adam

Hi Adam,

Here are the results I got for input current for your desired loads at 14VIN:

5uA: 5.6uA

10uA: 7.3uA

15uA: 8.8uA

I believe there may have been a miscommunication with the previous measurements, but this is what I would expect for this device in PFM.
