TLVM23625: temperature images and efficiency of TLVM23625

Hi,

The datasheet shows thermal camera images indicating that the TLVM23625 heats up more at lower operating frequencies. This doesn't match the fact that efficiency worsens as the frequency increases.

What's the reason for these images? Or maybe I'm misinterpreting something...

Vin=12V Vout=3.3 2A @ 1MHz = 57.9 ºC

Vin=12V Vout=3.3 2A @ 2.2MHz = 53.1 ºC

Hello

You are correct that higher switching frequency will give more loss.

It is possible that the images were taken too quickly before the device temperature was completely settled.

Also, with a somewhat higher power loss, the effective board θJA can be a little lower.
