TPS63900: Battery Lifetime Estimator

Hi team,

I have a few questions about Battery Lifetime Estimator.
We have selected a lithium ion battery and plan to use inputs to the circuit ranging from 4.2V to 3.0V.
On the circuit side, there are 4 main power supply paths for 1 input.
3.3V, 5V, 3.2V, and 1.2V outputs.
If there are multiple power supply paths, we will set each path in Pulsed Load, is this correct?
Since this is significantly different from the actual measurement, I am wondering if there is a problem with the setting method.

Hi Ryu,

Specification of load is decided by your downstream, right? I am confused here about setting each pth in pulsed load, how do you make it happen and why you want to do this? to save battery lifetime?

Honestly, i am not an expert on battery, from my understanding, if you want to save your battery life, you should save your consumption of your system, right?

Hi Tao,

To save battery power, we obviously want to save load, but we also want to save in the power IC area.
I was thinking of 4 paths from the battery (3.3V, 5V, 3.2V, 1.2V) and wanted to use this application to optimize each of them.
I wanted to see if I could use the “Pulsed Load” feature to check all 4 paths at once.
I also wanted to check if this method is wrong as it deviates from the actual measured values.

So, you have four pcs TPS63900 in your system for different voltage channel?

Hi Tao,

Sorry. This is not limited to TPS63900.
I wanted to ask a Battery Lifetime Estimator question, but this was not an option, so I went with TPS63900, which is the target device.
The question is about how to use this application with whatever power supply is connected.

Do you mean the battery lifetime GUI?

Power supply in your description means battery type or not?

I am referring to the IC.
I have 4 ICs connected to one battery and dividing the voltage to 3.3V, 5V, 3.2V, and 1.2V.

Finally, i got your questions. sorry for my bad understanding.

I am afraid this tool is not so powerful, could you try to transfer your all outputs to one rail only with some Vout ?

Also, is this GUI just for reference and not expected to be accurate?

Hi Ryu,

I mean if it is possible you can summarize your four outputs rail to one only with same output power.

I believe GUI is accurate, not so powerful i mentioned means it can not support have four different output rails.
