TPS25983: Can I use for lower load current <1A?

Tool/software:

I want to use the above mentioned device to power a 24V ,630mA current rated load.

When i enter the current value in the calculation sheet I get few errors in the values. So does that mean I cannot use it for lesser load current?

Please let me know if this device works for the above mentioned specification.

Hi Anush,

You can use the device for lower loads but the current limiting and current monitoring cannot be used below certain threshold.

RLIM high than this value is not recommended.

So if I want to drive less than 1A of current you mean I can use the device but the current monitoring and limiting will not work right?

Hi Anush,

Yes, they are not designed for this low voltage so they will still work but will have bad accuracy (if set beyond the limits). You can set the limiting above the minimum limit and get good accuracy.
