BQ25172: NiMH charger check

Tool/software:

Hi team,

Customer plan to use NiMH in their design, their NiMH voltage is 1.3V, and plan to use 2-cell in series.

BQ25172 voltage is 1.7V, this is larger than their battery voltage.

Could you help check if we get any other charger could meet their requirement?

What can you tell me about the customer's battery, possibly data sheet or part number?

Is a switching converter an option?

Hi Johns,

Thanks for your feedback.

After checking with customer, their battery vendor feedback 1.7V OVP voltage should also be OK for them.

So they will goes with BQ25172 first.

Hi Will

Do not have a NiMH with fast charge feature, dV/dt or dT/dt. Do you have an MCU with ADC that could be used to manage charge termination?
