LM26480: finding replacement of nPM 1300

Part Number: LM26480

Tool/software:

Request for PMIC Recommendation with Specific Features

Dear Texas Instruments Support Team,

We are looking for a power management IC (PMIC) that meets the following specifications for our application:

  • Battery Input: 3.7V to 4.2V (Li-ion/Li-poly)

  • Battery Charging Current: 750mA to 800mA

  • Buck Regulators: At least two buck converters with an output current of 250mA to 300mA each

  • Load Switch: Integrated load switch with an enable pin

  • Fuel Gauge: Integrated battery fuel gauge for accurate battery state monitoring

  • Additional Requirements:

    • Compact package suitable for space-constrained designs

    • Latest recommended solution with efficient power management

Could you please suggest the latest compact PMIC from TI that meets these requirements?

Looking forward to your recommendations.

  • Hi Parth,

We have limited PMIC products that include Li+ charger/battery support, so we may not have a PMIC that exactly matches these specifications.

The best recommendation would be TPS65217 / TPS652170 (user-programmable version)

    • Li-ion / Li-polymer Battery Charger
    • Max 700 mA charge current,
    • 3 Buck Converters, up to 1.2 A
    • (2 LDOs, up to 100 mA)
    • 2 Load switches, can be programmed to a sequence, or enabled with register bit via I2C
    • MUX_OUT pin can be used to approximate battery level
    • Undervoltage Lockout and Battery Fault Comparator
    • I2C Interface
    • VQFN package (6 mm x 6mm)

The next closest alternative would be TPS65070x:

    • Li-ion / Li-polymer Battery Charger
    • Max 1.5 A charge current
    • 3 Buck Converters, up to 1.5 A
    • 2 LDOs, up to 200 mA
    • Undervoltage Lockout and Battery Fault Comparator
    • I2C Interface
    • VQFN package (6 mm x 6 mm)

Let me know if you have any further questions.

    Best Regards,
    Sarah
