Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMR51625,
Tool/software:
I'm wondering what the differences between the two parts are, other than:
- The 51635 can handle Iout of 3.5A, the 51625 only 2.5A.
- The 51635 is actually a bit more efficient, but at zero load it has the same Iq.
- The 51625 is about 5-10% cheaper (depending on quantity and distributor).
- The 51635 can use slightly smaller inductors.
- Other than that, pinout and specs are the same. And I bet that the board layout I've come up for the 51635 would work just as well for the 51625.
So for me as an amateur hobbyist, who probably uses a dozen of these chips per year, I don't see a reason to stock anything other than the 51635; the small cost saving amounts to about $1 over the year. Did I miss something important here?
