I'm using the LP2985-50DBVR in one of my designs to achieve a 5V fixed output, however when there's no load connected before applying an i/p voltage , I am seeing 10V. When I attach the load before applying the input voltage, I see constant 5V.

1.I don't understand why there is a difference in output with and without load, despite the fact that it is a constant voltage regulator.

2. Even though my regulator is of Fixed 5V output from where am I getting 10V at the output.

Hello,

Have you tried this with multiple devices? Do you see this happen each time?

Load will typically drive down a voltage, but it is strange to see the output isn't as expected.

Yes, I tried several scenarios, but the situation remains the same. Also, in the datasheet, I see that the maximum voltage for the legacy component is 10V. What does this mean?

And why is it happening like this? (10V without load and 5V with load)
