BQ2972: OVP and CHG MOS

Part Number: BQ2972

Tool/software:

Hello,

I am planning to use the BQ29728DSER battery protection IC to provide discharge protection. I have two questions, and I would appreciate your help:

  1. I am not considering adding a CHG NMOS since I will only be providing discharge protection. The BQ25302RTER IC is already part of the circuit. Would this cause any issues with the proper operation of the system?

  2. The Undervoltage Protection (UVP) is specified at 2.8V. I am considering adding a 300R resistor between BAT+ and a Schottky diode (Vf=0.6V) to shift the UVP threshold to 3.3V. Will this method effectively change the UVP value to 3.3V?

I am also attaching the design schematic.

Thank you in advance for your answers
