TPS3424: Momentary Press Second Short Press

Part Number: TPS3424

Tool/software:

Related to this topic, a short press of a button asserts the RESET and a long press unasserts the RESET. Additionally the nINT line is momentarily active during both events. What does the TSP3424 do if it reads in a short press after a short press has already been read (meaning the RESET line is asserted). Does the TSP3424 pulse the nINT line?

My application would be...

1. Short button press on

2. Any following short button press would cause a processor to start a certain function (pairing or status update or something similar)

3. Long button press off

Thank you for your time!

  • Hi Nathan,

Yes, for the latched variant of the device, the short press will assert the RESET while a long press will de-assert the RESET. The INT will output a pulse for the corresponding push time regardless of the status of the RESET. So you will get an interrupt at the short press even when the RESET is already latched.

The application that you have outline will work with the TPS3424.
