Tool/software:
I have a similar question to ask regarding this component. In my case we want to use the RIset to 124 kOhm to acheive 25 mA maximum current
Our design has the following chagracteristics. 3,3 V input voltage, 2 x10 LED chain up to 40 V max, 30 mA absolute max (20 mA typ.). We have a serious space constraint for the design and we have slimed down to the minimums and we managed to fit on the layout (10 m x 14 mm, Height x Width) (see schematic bellow). No tantalum capacitor are allowed in design.
Do you foresee any issues in the design?
Can the output capacitors be reduced?
Input and output capacitors are 75V. would it be safe to use 50 V for Output capacitors (considering derating)? does the boost driver assure 50 V are not excceded?
Is there any issues besides loss of Accuracy loss for setting current ISET bellow 30 mA? How much accuracy? Accuracy is not our biggest issue as long as is bellow 10%.
We also reduced the current rating for the inductor due to size constraints in our design (also the ISNS was adjusted). We do not intend with this design to exeed 30 mA on both channels (60 mA total). Do you foresee any issues?
Do you have any others proposals for an LED driver for this design? I2C dimming is mandatory, similar or smaller size of layout (10 mm x 14 mm only available). Internal boost switch would be preffered due to size constraints.
