LM51231-Q1: How to use Tina to simulate this part using its Pspice model

Part Number: LM51231-Q1

Tool/software:

Hello,

I am Sunny.

I want to use Tina to simulate the boost circuit using LM51231-q1.  When I use Tina to newly create a Marco for it, it is showing below notice. It may be caused by the model is encrypted.

Could you please tell me how can I use Tina to simulate LM51231-q1?

Thanks a lot.

  • Hello Sunny,

Thanks for using the e2e forum.
Unfortunately, I am not familiar with this error.

Does the simulation not work at all? (Also if you try to run the default testbench without modification)
Or does this error only show up when you want to use it is a specific setup?

    Thanks for clarifying.

    Best regards,
    Niklas

  • Hello, Niklas

    Thanks for your reply.

Its Pspice model downloaded from TI website has no .tsm file. So I need to create a marco for it firstly. Then it shows the error. I have searched this question on web. The result shows I need to use unencrypted Pspice model.

Could you please help me confirm if the model is unencrypted on TI official website?

Have you used Tina to simulate LM51231-Q1?

    Thanks!

  • Hello Sunny,

    Thanks for the feedback.
The PSpice model for LM51231-Q1 is encrypted on the webpage.
If I understand correctly, you are trying to transfer the PSpice model to TINA (or other simulators), which would require the unencrypted model?

It is possible to hand out the unencrypted model, but this file is only shared under NDA restrictions.
Can you check if your company has an active NDA contract with Texas Instruments?
If yes, you can share it with me via private message. I can then prepare the unencrypted PSpice files for you.

I have not used TINA for LM51231. For this device, we only have a PSpice model available.

    Best regards,
    Niklas

  • Hello, Niklas

    Thanks for your quick reply.

I will contact the FAE who is responsible for my compony firstly and ask if he can provide this.

If he cannot, I will contact our SCM for the NDA. Then, hope you can help me.

    Thanks again.

  • Hi Sunny,

    Thanks for the quick reply.
Let me know once you get feedback from the FAE.

    Best regards,
    Niklas
