Hi team,

My customer asked if LM5157-Q1 can be used as pre-boost:

  • work in boost mode when Vin < target Vout
  • work in bypass or go through mode when Vin > target Vout

    Thanks for using the E2E forum.

    Yes you can operate the LM5157 as pre-boost. 

    The device will be in stand by mode when Vin> Vout. The output will be Vout = Vin - Vdiode. 

    But keep in mind the Absolute Maximum Ratings of the SW and FB pins.
