TPS92640: Stability with Current Sense Amplifier?

Dear TI Experts,

we want to use the TPS92640 to supply a high power LED. (10A LED Current, 16V LED Voltage).

We want to use a current amplifier to use a lower shunt value and minimize losses in the current measurement shunt. Ideally we want to use the EZShunt device INA790B.

Could this lead to any issues with stability? As far as we understand this should be no problem, due to the hysteretic control method of the TPS92640 and the relatively large bandwidth of the INA790B.

Sorry for late reply. There should be no risk to use the INA790B as current sensing. You can share the schematic/layout for us to review when it's competed. you can also send to bella-he@ti.com if you don't want it to disclose on this forum.

Hi Gui,

Thank you for the information. We just wanted to verify that there are no concerns regarding stability, when using the TPS92640 with an amplified shunt like the INA790.
