TPS25947: TPS66020

Part Number: TPS25947
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS66020,

Tool/software:

Hi ~

Is the following correct?

For type C PD application, is TPS259474 generally more feasible? (condition: intel Gothic bridge, TYPE C pd adaptor 65W & 100W)

Key Differences

  • Voltage Range: TPS66020 supports a higher voltage range for the sink path (up to 22V) compared to TPS259474 (up to 23V).
  • Current Capacity: TPS259474 can handle slightly higher current (up to 5.5A) compared to TPS66020 (up to 5A for sink path).
  • Protection Features: Both devices offer comprehensive protection features, but TPS259474 includes additional features like true reverse current blocking and adjustable transient blanking timer.

  • Hi Eve,

TPS66020 is more towards PD controller type part with integrated FETs for dedicated SRC and SNK paths. TPS25947 is a simple back-to-back FET device with primary focus on protections. TPS25947 do not allow reverse current.

I am not aware of Intek Gothic bridge. I am assuming you don't need bi-directional current flow so in that case TPS25947 is better for its simplicity and protection features.

If you require bi-directional current flow, then go with TPS66020.

    Best Regards,
