TPS25200-Q1: Enable pin working in different conditions

Part Number: TPS25200-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi

I am using TPS25200-Q1 at multiple locations.

My purpose of using it to protect the circuit during over load and short circuit condition.

I want this device to be completely off through the Enable pin after getting the low state from the Fault pin. (Voltage and Current both needs to be zero)

As shown below

Need clarity about the transient response (No load to output short) as shown below

  • Hi Subash,

Here in fig28, the device is performing goes into current limit due to output short. Since the power dissipation is very high across the device, the junction temperature will rise and result in thermal shutdown. The device will perform re-try with some delay after when the junction temperature falls below the threshold. So, we see Auto-retries here in the waveform.

When you turn off the device using EN low, you won't see retries.

    Best Regards,
    Arush
